About Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series SE4xPR5 2020 Release<\/h2>\n

Beginning as a standard Maker’s Mark wheated bourbon<\/a>, Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series SE4xPR5 2020 Release is finished with ten seared oak staves, which are placed inside the barrels.<\/p>\n

Two stave profiles were used \u2013 SE4 and PR5 \u2013 marrying virgin French oak<\/a> with virgin toasted American oak staves.<\/p>\n

Finally, both bourbons<\/a> are married and the final result is a complex blend of both stave finishes, bringing spiced vanilla, baking spices, burnt caramel, and a touch of sweetness on the palate.<\/p>\n

On October 1, 1953, William Samuels Sr. purchased Burks Distillery, which was situated in Loretto, Kentucky, for $35,000.<\/p>\n

Five years later, the distillery released the first bottles of Maker\u2019s Mark Bourbon Whisky, which featured the distillery\u2019s distinctive red wax seal.<\/p>\n

The distillery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1980.<\/p>\n

Made from a mash of corn, wheat, and malted barley, Maker\u2019s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky (spelled without an \u201ce\u201d to honor the Samuels family\u2019s Scottish heritage) manages to marry large-scale, global production with a rich tradition in a way that few other distilleries can rival.<\/p>\n

The actual \u201cmakers\u201d of Maker\u2019s Mark still rotate the barrels in the distillery\u2019s warehouses, bottle the whisky and dip the bottles in wax \u2014 all by hand.<\/p>\n
