About Blanton’s Silver Edition Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Albert Blanton started working at the Old Fire Copper Distillery (now known as Buffalo Trace) at the age of 16, reportedly working in every department at the distillery in the following years. By the age of 20, he was appointed the superintendent of O.F.C, and worked there until his retirement in 1952.
He identified a certain section of Warehouse H at his distillery, which he believed was the best for aging bourbon, and would personally select individual barrels from the section to bottle for his own private reserve.
Today, Blanton’s is a beloved brand where single casks are still picked from warehouse H. Blanton’s Silver Edition is a single-barrel Kentucky straight bourbon that was originally available in duty-free shops, but has since been discontinued.
It was crafted with Buffalo Trace’s high-rye mash bill #2 and matured between 6 and 8 years before being bottled at 98 proof.
